A view of extraction of Lycium bararum polysaccharides assisted by ultrasound and its bioactivities

  • The polysaccharides isolated from L. barbarum have been identified as the major active ingredients responsible for its biological activities. L. barbarum polysaccharides have various bioactivities, such as antioxidant,antitumor,hepatoprotection,antidiabetics and so on. It was useful for the prevention and therapy for some chronic diseases. Ultrasound-assisted extraction techniques for plant polysaccharides have received extensive concern for its characteristics of time-saving,energy-efficient and high extraction ratio. This paper focused on the application and development of ultrasound- assisted extraction techniques in extracting L. barbarum polysaccharides and the bioactivities of L. barbarum polysaccharides. Meanwhile,the problems existing were analysed.
