A view of extraction of Lycium bararum polysaccharides assisted by ultrasound and its bioactivities

The polysaccharides isolated from L. barbarum have been identified as the major active ingredients responsible for its biological activities. L. barbarum polysaccharides have various bioactivities, such as antioxidant,antitumor,hepatoprotection,antidiabetics and so on. It was useful for the prevention and therapy for some chronic diseases. Ultrasound-assisted extraction techniques for plant polysaccharides have received extensive concern for its characteristics of time-saving,energy-efficient and high extraction ratio. This paper focused on the application and development of ultrasound- assisted extraction techniques in extracting L. barbarum polysaccharides and the bioactivities of L. barbarum polysaccharides. Meanwhile,the problems existing were analysed.
