Research Progress in the Structure of Oligosaccharide Binding Proteins of ABC Transporter in Probiotics

  • Probiotics help improve the host's microecological balance. Intake of oligosaccharides by probiotics is beneficial to its proliferation and metabolism. The intake process is mainly completed by ABC transporters. The substrate-binding protein of the ABC transporter is capable of binding oligosaccharides in the extracellular region and transmitting them further through the transmembrane region. This paper reviews the oligosaccharide-binding proteins in probiotics in recent years, highlights their structural characteristics, and discusses the functional mechanisms of their oligosaccharide substrates.
