Current status of the study and utilization of the bioactive compounds of apple

  • Apple is one of the most important fruits in the world and it is rich in bioactive compounds and has important nutritional, healthy, medicinal and economic values.Based on a thorough literature-reviewing, the current advances in the study and utilization of the bioactive compounds of apple fruits were systematically summarized in this paper.The types, dynamic changes of contents and their controls, the methods and techniques used in the study, their important function for health as well as other scientific utilizations were summarized with the purpose to provide new information for further exploitation and utilization of the rich apple genetic resources in China.
