Research progress in extraction of taurine, polysaccharides, peptides and other active substances from marine biology

The research of extraction of nutritional components from the marine biology mainly focused on the improvement of extraction and separation techniques, including the extraction of taurine, polysaccharides and active peptide.Recent advance in functional composition extraction was reviewed, and the techniques of extraction and separation were discussed, such as water boiling extraction, enzymatic hydrolysis method, membrane filtration technique, ion exchange technique and so on.Based on the analysis above, low extraction ratio and high cost were the most serious problems, and extracting bioactive substances from marine biology and its leftover would be necessary.The prospect of extraction method selection, application and further research direction was presented.
