Research and application of creatine as sports nutrition product

  • Creatine or methyl guanidine acetic acid is the nutrient found naturally in our body.From the beginning of the last century 90’s, it was used by athletes. Now it has become a kind of sports nutrition product most widely used in the sports field. The main effect of creatine administration are to increase the retention of creatine and glycogen synthesis in muscle, subsequently resulting in quick provision of energy. Creatine supplementation plus resistance training contributes to muscle and strength increase. Over the years, the beneficial effect and the security of long-term creatine supplementation has been proven by a large number of clinical study as well as the laws and regulations safeguard were obtained in foreign countries.This article aimed to form consensus on creatine in the fields of food, health and sports in our country, through the studies abroad.
