Pretreatment and purification of poly-γ-glutamic acid from fermentation broth

  • By using alcohol precipitation and salting out to extract γ-PGA. The best dilution multiples was 2 times, the dosage of diatomaceous earth and powder activated carbon (granular activated carbon) , respectively, 10g/L and 10g/L (15g/L) , the best pH value was 3.0 for suction filter under the room temperature. Using 5%NaCl and double volume of ethanol for extraction of γ-PGA, by frozen vacuum drying of γ-PGA, the sample was white and granular, extraction efficiency achieved 95.21%, purity was 96.89%, using this method, the production input had reduced and the dosage of ethanol also highly reduced.
