Study on aqueous two- phase extraction of protease from Monopterus albus

  • Protease was extracted and purified by the polyethylene glycol ( PEG) - salt aqueous two- phase systems from Monopterus albus. Effects of different kinds and concentrations of phasing salts, different molecular weight and concentrations of phasing PEG, p H on extraction of the protease were studied. The results showed that the optimum conditions for extraction and purification of the protease were 25% PEG1000, 20% ( NH4) 2SO4and p H7.0.Under the optimum extraction conditions, recovery and purification fold of the protease in top phase were 90.5%and 4.40, respectively.
