Effect of metal ions on extracellular cordycepin production in submerged cultivation of Cordyceps militaris

  • The study was aimed at the effect of different kinds of metal ions on extracellular cordycepin production and biomass by submerged cultivation of Cordyceps militaris. Compounds contained Mg2 +,Fe2 +,Fe3 +,Zn2 +,Mn2 +,Cu2 +,Ca2 +,Co2 +and I-were added to liquid culture medium respectively to select some kinds of metal ions that could facilitate the extracellular cordycepin production and biomass. And on this basis, the optimum concentration was confirmed. The results suggested that Mn2 +,Ca2 +and Mg2 +significantly improved the production of cordycepin and biomass, and the suitable concentrations were 0.05 g/L Mn2+,0.6 g/L Ca2+and1.0 g/L Mg2+respectively.
