Simultaneous determination of 40 elements in fruits and vegetables of Beijing market by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

  • The determination of 40 elements in 22 kinds of fruit and vegetables from Beijing market was studied by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry using microwave digestion for sample preparation.Major elements( K,P,Ca,Mg,Na and Fe),minor elements( Zn,Sr,Rb,Mn,Ba Cu,Ni,Mo,Cr,V,Co,Pb,As,Se,Cd,Tl,U and Ag)and rare earth elements( La,Ce,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Sc and Y) in 114 fruits and vegetables were analyzed and discussed,respectively.The results showed that concentrations of studied elements in vegetables were all higher than those in fruits. In addition,different kinds of vegetables were with various concentration levels,which conformed to the regularity decreased in the order leaf vegetables,root and tuber vegetables,and fruit- vegetables.
