Application of attenuated total reflection- fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for rapid identification of fungi strains on grain

  • Attenuated total reflection- Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy( ATR- FTIR) was used in combination with chemomoetrics in this study for rapid identification of seven strains of fungi that usually cause seriously economic damage to paddy rice( Fusarium oxysporum Pr,Fusarium oxysporum Po,Fusarium oxysporum M23,Penicillium aurantiogriseum Pe,Penicillim expansum 3.7898,Aspergillus glaucus 3.3975 and Aspergillus candidus). The results indicated that, principal component analysis( PCA) could effectively distinguish the seven fungi strains. The overall correct classification in leaves- one- out cross- validation for different kinds of strains obtained by linear discriminant analysis( LDA) and partial least- squares discriminant analysis( PLS- DA) model was 87.1% and87.3%,respectively. The results verified that the use of ATR- FTIR technology might be feasible for rapid identification of the species of fungi contamination on paddy rice.
