Research progress of the esterification and degradability of γ-poly glutamic acid as a new kind of food packaging material

  • Non-degradable disposable food packaging plastic is an important part of the packaging industry,and it caused the environment pollution and food safety problems which has attracted people's attentions. So research and development of new biodegradable food packaging materials has become the development trend in the future.Technology and research status of ester modification of γ-poly glutamic acid which is a kind of amino acid polymers was reviewed in this paper and the evaluation methods of biodegradability of γ-poly glutamic acid ester were proposed which provide references for the related researchers.
