Preliminary study on the immunomodulatory function of Lactobacillus plantarum KLDS 1.0318 in mice

  • Objective:To study the effect of Lactobacillus plantarum KLDS 1.0318 on mice immunomodulatory function. Methods:The healthy BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:normal control group, low dose group of lactic acid bacteria, medium dose group of lactic acid bacteria, and high dose group of lactic acid bacteria.Suspension of Lactobacillus plantarum KLDS 1.0318 was administrated by gavage with different doses to mice.Spleen and thymus index, the splenic lymphocyte proliferation,NK cell activity and the energy metabolism of macrophages were measured in each group of mice.Phagocytosis of macrophages was measured by neutral red phagocytosis. Results:Compared with the normal control group, the middle and high dose of Lactobacillus plantarum KLDS 1.0318 group could significantly improve the spleen and thymus index of mice, and promote the proliferation of spleen lymphocyte, enhance NK cell activity in mice, increase the macrophage phagocytosis of neutral red and energy metabolism level. Conclusion:Lactobacillus plantarum KLDS 1.0318 can enhance the immune function of the organism by promoting the specific immunity and nonspecific immunity.
